When I was around 5 or 6, my grandma would catch a beetle and tie it to my wrist, so it’s like an automated kite anchored to my movement while causing a giant leading force on me for the beetle’s instinct to flee. We become essential to each other. If we imagine an invisible thread that is long enough for the beetle not to see the human, or in other words, the causing factor of its limitations at the other end, how would the beetle know its entire possibility is dictated by the state of another entity?

Worked with team ZLYX in Beijing,China, we created a branding identity for burger steak restaurant, 一one汉堡饭. I worked on ideation, design, sound and animation of these 11 individual screens embedded in the wall showcasingthe menu, the origin of the ingredients and some branded materials.

Guo Town Produce

Guo town is a typical city suburb area of China. The people here are mostly self-sufficient farmers and low income family that have been assigned land to farm in order to maintain the city’s designated agriculture. This poster and its' extensions are guides for farm produce resellers from outside of this village presenting seasonal produce of this village each month. In this way the fresh farm produce would not be wasted due to hardship of communication and the lack of an efficient supply chain.

This is a branding system for a Sichuan stir-fry chain restaurant in China. The goal is to build a simple, fresh, friendly, and easily replicable visual tone to adapt different in-store appliances from packaging to interior decorations. From the Chinese character of Chuan and the shape of a spoon, we developed a set of graphics to reflect the diverse flavors of Sichuan cuisine.
